The sisal fibres are selected and classified in four types according to the level of quality: padding, T3, T2 and T1. The fibres go through a beating and crushing process following selection.

- T3 – twine (including agricultural) and string manufacture;
- Padding – pad and cellulose manufacture.
Agricultural Twine – NCM: 5607.21.00
Produced with 100% natural fibre, farmers around the world are using sisal agricultural twine more and more because it is biodegradable, does not harm livestock or pollute the environment. The products receive treatment against mould, damp and rodents. They comply with international quality standards related to resistance (traction, knot and twisting), dampness and weight.

Production of sisal handicrafts generates work and income for thousands of people, mainly in the northeast of Brazil. After it has been processed, washed, dried and brushed, the fibre is transformed into threads that are the artisans’ raw material. The threads can be worked on in manual looms, crochet and other areas. The fibre has a vibrant yellow tone in its natural state but can also be easily coloured. There is a wide range of final products: bags, mats, jewellery holders, chairs, place mats, etc.
